SharkBite recently participated as a sponsor at the 2024 SkillsUSA National Championship — which hosts America’s most highly skilled career and technical education (CTE) students — to connect with and hear from the next generation of skilled tradespeople. A team from SharkBite’s parent company, Reliance Worldwide Corporation (RWC), shared information on plumbing as a career and spoke with over 200 students, school advisors and teachers about ways brands can help get more young people interested in the skilled trades.

The event, held in SharkBite’s HQ city of Atlanta in June, is one of the largest hands-on workforce development events in the world, featuring over 6,000 state champions from across the U.S. competing head-to-head in 115 skilled and leadership competitions. As a brand committed to attracting more plumbers and pipefitters to the trade, SharkBite was proud to be a part of such a major event supporting the future of the skilled trades.

At the event, SharkBite surveyed students about their interest in plumbing and spoke to educational professionals about trades outreach. While connecting with attendees, the team also gave out prizes and shared more about how SharkBite contributes to the plumbing industry through innovative plumbing technology.

This event comes at a time when the plumbing industry is facing a major shortage of skilled workers, which means educators, manufacturers and nonprofits alike must do our part to ensure the industry — and all skilled trades — grow and thrive. That’s why SharkBite provides resources on plumbing as a career and partners with organizations and events that advocate for and elevate the plumbing trade.
